beauty and the beast with our belles
we were so excited for this live action film to come out!!!!!!!! i looked at tickets the tuesday morning before the movie came out to theaters for the following tuesday ($5 tuesdays, you get me?) but everything was already sold out! so then i started looking for tickets for the next week on sunday night, then monday... when suddenly an empty theater popped up for jordan commons for the NEXT DAY??? we got 3 LUXURY SEATS for $15 for the NEXT DAY! i was so excited-- i felt like i won the lottery or something! (when i checked the theater and our tickets about an hour later, it had already filled up!)
anyways, we brought both girls in their belle dresses and they each were spoiled with a bucket of popcorn to themselves. scarlett whined when we entered the theater (we think she might have been traumatized from the 4D effects from the aquarium movies?) and started shaking and crying into my shoulders. we called my mom during the previews and thankfully she came to take scarlett, while jer and i got to enjoy the movie with amelia.
i loved the movie so much. it was a such a nostalgic evening to my childhood with remakes of my favorite songs. the movie was so well done and it was just so great being with my family! amelia loved the movie, and only got a little nervous during the fight scene at the end; jer loved when the beast threw a huge snowball at belle and knocked her out! and scarlett... well, now she's obsessed with beauty and the beast and always talks about the "movie theater" and how she "not see it" because she was "with ah-ma!" and jer and i just laugh about the whole situation.
we're buying this movie the day it's released, and i can't wait to watch it again!

field trip to gardner village
this field trip and these pictures made me so happy-- watching amelia play and be so happy with her friends solidified that transferring her back to discovery kids was the right decision. we had so much fun-- preschool field-trips are what dreams are made of!

11/1//
Stake Conference is scary with young children, so we opted to visit the slc temple instead! We walked the grounds, visited both visitors' centers, and had good talks about baptism, the holy ghost, and getting married in the temple. I realize that reverence takes practice and we debated on whether or not we would skip out on conference. We felt the spirit so much on the temple grounds, and in the end, I'm so glad we followed this prompting and had this beautiful Sunday experience! This is my season to listen and teach as curiosity and growing minds are in full bloom. I'm blessed, and confident, and terrified for this responsibility.
PS. I'm so proud of these girls for just knowing what to do when a camera is pulled out. We practice every single day, so it's about time!

pie-n-cheer day
(jeremy + scarlett making the same face)
i love peterson's family farm and the events they host. i thought the name of this event was hilarious and perfectly family friendly. amelia participated in the games... got a little frustrated with the bean bag toss and stepped right up to it to drop her bean bag in, was so cute jumping in her sack bag and thought i was the most hilarious person ever, dunked farmer luke by pressing the target, loved petting the baby goats + the wagon ride (amelia kept telling me it wasn't a wagon ride, it was a tractor ride). we skipped out on waffle luv (i know...) to have lunch and naptime, but i would still call the whole morning a success!

life these days
is busy and loud and outrageous. and i love it!
going out to eat as a family of four can be unpredictable,
but i'm learning to appreciate this lovely thing called young motherhood.
(we went to red robin, scarlett yelled the whole time, i nursed her without success or a cover, we got our food + boxed everything up to go, i took the check + couldn't remember how much to tip, amelia was a total angel though!)

we're going on a bear hunt

amelia has loved her "we're going on a bear hunt book" so we decided to go on a "bear hunt" up silver lake! we took our picnic basket and ate sandwiches + fruit in a secluded area and hiked around the lake. we encountered long wavy grass, deep cold river, thick oozy mud + big dark forest. AND a moose. but amelia was utterly disappointed that we didn't find the bear, nor a swirling whirling snowstorm. whaaaale... i guess we can't win them all.
love my girls and their crazy personalities.
and their daddy too.

loveland living aquarium
well, i've turned into the mom that blogs only pictures of her kids without many words, but am pretty much saying, "hey, look cute c uuuuu t e these babies of mine are!" but for real, i just want to munch their cheeks! jer came with us our first time and we all agreed the remodel was so much more kid-friendly! we loved the displays and loved tuki's island; both girls were all smiles and we had so much fun! similar to our experience to the zoo, we didn't rush to do everything, but enjoyed what we could slowly and looked forward to our next visit. just perfect! jeremy, the big sucker, got amelia a $4 pretzel and a $15 stuffed animal for each girl. i know i probably sound grumpy and cheap, but really i love that jeremy spoils the girls rotten. i oblige because it melts my heart, but i'll never admit it to them. amelia decided she wanted an octopus at the last minute, and then at home she wanted to trade for scarlett's turtle. it's okay that she monopolizes all the toys and scarlett just gets the scraps, right?
loved this trips so much, we went back the very next day with my girl christie. she lives so far away, and i love and miss her so much. it was just nice to catch up for a minute.
