babymoon in idaho

this last scheduling period at work was interesting and left me with several shifts on weeknights. i noticed i had a whole weekend off in may, and jeremy and i decided to take a "babymoon" or one last trip before baby evelyn arrived. after arranging with both our parents to watch the girls, we headed up to idaho without looking back! the trip up in our prius was sweet as we remembered how to talk without interruptions-- we drove for 5 hours and went straight to the dennis dillon dealership!

even though we knew the exact car we wanted and the price we wanted it for, it still took us over 4 hours to walk out of the dealership with keys in hands! we were so relieved and excited to finally get our dream car for 3 kids, with just 6 weeks to spare! we celebrated by (me) taking a warm bath (my favorite pastime at the hotel), getting dinner, seeing the new pirates movie and sleeping in the next morning.

after an amazing continental breakfast, we headed to the boise idaho temple for a little walk. we noted the temple was erected the same year jeremy was born. after some reluctance, we decided it was time to head home... in separate cars. the five hour drive down wasn't nearly was fun as the one up. we made stops for gas and lunch and went straight to the girls (after a car wash, of course). amelia didn't complain about the new car smell quite as much, and we were grateful for that!

we've adjusted to our new ride, and amelia is getting keen to the idea of sitting in the third row by herself when evelyn arrives. i think i've set up the carseats in the most efficient way to get in and out the car... hopefully we'll be set, come july! thankfully, we sold our terrain at listing price the same week we posted it... such a tender mercy that it was such a smooth process!

i love spending alone time with jeremy-- it seems so few and far between these days. we both love and cherish our family, but it's just nice to remember how we started and how we loved before our girls took over our hearts and lives. this sweet babymoon was perfect, just because we were able to be together.
